2021 Kia Sorento X-Line — Impressive compact crossover

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman - MyCarData

Earlier this year we spent a week with the hybrid version of the all-new 2021 Kia Sorento and we were impressed with the compact crossover's combination of fuel efficiency and performance. In fact we were as impressed with the whole package that delivers ample passenger and cargo space, which includes a small third-row seat; comfortable seats including a great driver's perch; the latest in safety technology; and all-around class-leading styling. Racing through the suburbs in the 2021 MINI John Cooper Works

By Marlon Hanson - MyCarData

Fun! Fun! SO MUCH FUN! Should I add a couple more “funs” to that sentence? Maybe, but I really should caution — I said “fun” not practical nor comfortable. (full story)

2021 Kia K5 GT — A great powertrain that needs AWD

By Dan Scanlan - MyCarData

Didn’t leap it sideways off a ramp. Did not slalom the 2021 Kia K5 GT around steel columns in a smoky warehouse either. Wanted to, like Kia’s TV spots, but I didn’t. (full story)

The Black effect on the luxury car segment

2021 Ford F-250 Tremor carries unlimited luxuries (video included)

By Casey Williams - MyCarData

Is it a luxury car or an all-capable pickup?  Well, in the case of the 2021 Ford F-250 Platinum Tremor, the answer is “both”.  Interior accommodations rival a Lincoln Navigator while its heavy duty engineering and off-road fortifications make it the ultimate pickup too.  It can take your family to church, then out to the wilderness to pray.  Just don’t ask it to squeeze into small spaces.  That’s not one of its luxuries. 2021 Volkswagen Arteon — A stylish hatchback

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman - MyCarData

Perhaps the biggest problem Volkswagen faces with its flagship near-luxury mid-sized hatchback Arteon, which has undergone a freshening for 2021, is that few people even know what it is. Over our time behind the wheel of a top trim SEL Premium R-Line we asked a half dozen people what they thought of the Arteon, and not one was familiar with the car.   (full story)

2021 MINI Cooper S Convertible — An adult open-air go-kart

By Dan Scanlan - MyCarData

Bill has a new MINI EV, a 3,085-lb., 189-hp hot hatch that looks and acts like a MINI should. So he was very happy to see our 2021 MINI Cooper S Convertible roll its Starlight Blue shape into his driveway for a visit. Then he gazed inside, easy to do with a cloth top that drops in 15 seconds. 2021 Hyundai Veloster N is seriously special

By Casey Williams - MyCarData

The Hyundai Veloster is the weirdest car that makes so much sense.  It’s a sporty little thing, thoroughly entertaining to drive.  Then, there’s that weird third door that allows kids and friends to enter curbside.  Pop the hatch and flip down the rear seats for copious storage space.  It event topples some of the world’s most iconic cars in N trim. 2022 Hyundai Tucson delivers affordable panache

By Casey Williams - MyCarData

For a long time, Hyundai has stood for quality cars with handsome styling and value pricing.  But, they weren’t especially engaging.  That’s been changing recently and is especially apparent with the completely redesigned 2022 Tucson. (full story)

2021 Lincoln Nautilus — Comfortable, quiet, stylish

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman - MyCarData

Lincoln has no sedans or coupes left in its lineup. Its last three sedans — Continental, MKZ and MKZ Hybrid — were terminated following the 2020 model year. This would have been hard to believe just a few years ago, but the Lincoln Motor Company is now comprised of just four vehicles — all SUVs.  (full story)

Long-time love affair with GMC Yukon continues

By Marlon Hanson - MyCarData

I bought my first GMC Yukon back in 2004. I loved it so much I bought another one in 2008, passing the “old” 2004 model on to my son. He drove that Yukon all over Texas and the country until it was well over a decade old and way past 100,000 miles. When he finally sold it, that Yukon still looked like new. I might add that I met the founder of XPEL at a Texas Truck Rodeo and he personally installed his paint protection film on that vehicle. It kept the Yukon looking new and perfect through our entire ownership period. (full story)
